The 70-year-old model was photographed by a fan dancing to her ex-husband’s hit song “Uptown Girl” as she took part in his performance at Madison Square Garden.
In the TikTok video, Brinkley was seen by the entire crowd dancing to the song and grinning broadly while she made an appearance on a large screen. She looked up at the stage, probably at Joel, seventy-four, singing.
In 1983, Joel released the hit song. According to supermodel Elle Macpherson, Brinkley starred in the music video, and although the singer was dating her when he began writing the song, they broke up in the middle of the process.
When Billy started seeing Brinkley exclusively, he allegedly “ousted” her from a Manhattan residence.
Billy Joel said in his 2014 biography Billy Joel: The Definitive Biography that he composed “Uptown Girl” about every model in Manhattan at first, but that after he started dating Brinkley, he altered the song’s title from plural to singular.
Before divorcing in 1994, Brinkley and the “Piano Man” singer were married in 1985 and had a daughter named Alexa Ray Joel.

The singer and the ex-model maintain a cordial friendship despite their breakup, and they even co-host Christmas carol singalongs together during the festive season.
Joel and Brinkley met at an airport while on vacation in St. Barts. Joel tried to impress her with his music when they later ran into each other at a bar. Before relocating to Long Island, the couple got married on a yacht in New York Harbor.
