Andrew Jenkins (45) is a contestant on the reality TV game show “The Traitors.” Besides his appearance on the show, he also received recognition for his inspiring and remarkable life story.
Viewers have noticed distinctive scars around the back of Andrew’s head, sparking curiosity about his background.
Andrew admired everything about The Traitors season 1, including its format, gameplay, and ability to immerse the audience in the game, so he decided to give it a try.
Admitting that he hasn’t taken any risks or challenges in his life, Andrew chose to take part in The Traitors to step out of his comfort zone.
While on the show, Andrew hopes to inspire those who have had a traumatic experience or struggled with their mental health by telling them that “if you keep fighting and believing, you will achieve your goals.”
What is Traitors all about, and where can I watch it?
‘The Traitors’ is a tense psychological adventure competition in which 22 strangers are transported to a castle in the Scottish Highlands to complete a series of challenges and missions as a group.
The catch, however, is that among the loyal contestants hoping to win a cash prize of up to £120,000, three traitors are secretly lurking, sabotaging their efforts and picking off contestants one by one.
In the ultimate game of detection, backstabbing, and trust, the loyalists must root out the traitors amongst their ranks to win or risk losing everything.
Every Thursday, The Traitors Season 2 premieres a new episode. Episodes are available to stream on Peacock alongside The Traitors: Postmortem after the show.
What happened to Andrew in Traitors?
What makes Andrew’s story stand out is a life-altering event that occurred 23 years ago—a horrific car accident that almost claimed his life.
Following the accident, he was declared dead at the scene but miraculously revived. Andrew then remained in a coma for nearly five weeks.
During this critical period, doctors informed his parents that he may never regain certain basic functions, such as walking, talking, or using his arms. The prognosis was bleak, and the odds appeared stacked against him.
How much are the Traitors cast paid to appear on the show?
In a YouTube Q&A, 2023 winner Aaron Evans revealed the cast is compensated a small amount of money a day to appear on the show.
He said: “It’s roughly like £100 a day. It’s not that much, but it’s worth it.”
Aaron went on to win part of the £101,050 cash pot last year, which he declared he would give to his mom as a house deposit. He has since revealed that he kept around £3,000 so he could go traveling.
