KKW Beauty, Kim Kardashian’s cosmetic line, was launched in 2017. Naturally, the brand drew a lot of attention from KUWTK fans as well as those who admired the business mogul’s flawless makeup.
Although the cosmetic line appeared to be doing well, Kardashian announced that she planned to shutter operations in 2021. What happened to KKW Beauty?
SKKN by Kim is the new name for KKW Beauty. “Anything that is applied to the skin or helps to accentuate your skin will fall under the SKKN brand.
These products are coming from SKKN and are perfect to meet your expectations. Kim promised on Twitter that “all of your favorites” would be included, but she didn’t say whether it would be the official name of the rebrand.
Before the closing, KKW Beauty’s contour sticks and nude cream lipsticks were popular among makeup enthusiasts.
The SKKN by Kim skincare line includes nine products: cleanser, toner, exfoliator, hyaluronic acid serum, vitamin C8 serum, face cream, eye cream, oil drops, and night oil.
Her products “will not be restricted to a specific demographic,” but will be available to anyone, regardless of age, and will cost between $43 and $95.
According to Allure, the formulas used to create the products are “more modern, innovative, and packaged in an elevated, new sustainable look.”
Certain SKKN by Kim products contain ingredients such as witch hazel, vitamin C, and glycerin, and all packaging “emulates stone in varying neutral shades.”
Kardashian decided to use “lightweight plastic” packaging for all of the products in her skincare line, which were also refillable.
Also, Allure shared that SKKN by Kim products are “cruelty-free, vegan, and meet the clean standards of major beauty retailers like Sephora and Ulta Beauty.”
Nearly all of the products included in the collection are fragrance-free, except the scrub, which Allure claims contains a “light scent.”

While Kardashian claims she shut down her beauty line to launch a better, more sustainable brand, there is speculation that she did so for other reasons.
For example, some believe the Skims founder decided to end KKW Beauty’s existence because the name included a W, which stands for West.
Kim founded KKW Beauty while she was married to Kanye West, now known as Ye.
Thus, KKW Beauty’s final moments occurred at midnight on August 1, 2021.
Kim’s new skin-care line, SKKN, which debuted in June, was recently the subject of a lawsuit accusing her of infringing on the trademarked name of Beauty Concepts, a Brooklyn-based black-owned small business that offers salon services under the title “SKKN+.”
