Doja Cat snaps at parents who bring their kids to her performances, saying, “I do not make music for children.”

Doja Cat has condemned parents who bring children to her concerts, telling them to leave their kids home. She clarified that she’s not running a kid-friendly establishment or hosting family-friendly events.

“Despite popular belief, I do not write music for young listeners. So, if you have children, leave them at home, damn it,” she wrote, without explaining what prompted her to express her thoughts on the issue.

On Friday (April 26), the “Paint the Town Red” singer and rapper, 28, who recently headlined Coachella, shared some choice words for parents in a series of tweets.

The Grammy-winning artist, Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, is known for using her social media accounts to target her fans. She lost a lot of Instagram followers the previous year because she would not tell her followers that she “loved” them.

Doja Cat was one of the standout acts at Coachella 2024, rocking scanty attire and lingerie throughout her set while performing her hedonistic anthems.

The “Say So” artist will headline several radio concerts, including Hot 97’s Summer Jam event, before heading to Europe for a handful of shows and festival sets in England, Amsterdam, Italy, and more.

Doja Cat discussed “F–k the Girls (FTG)” and how she should not be viewed as a role model for children. 72,000 album units were sold in the first week of Scarlet US October release, which landed her at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.

She lost a lot of Instagram followers the previous year because she would not tell her followers that she “loved” them. She responded to the drop in her Instagram following later, unfazed, saying, “Seeing all these people unfollow makes me feel like I have defeated a large beast that has been holding me down for so long, and it feels like I can reconnect with the people who matter and love me for who I am and not for who I was.”

Her former admirers are now airing their grievances online, igniting contentious discussions. It’s like a fierce fight, and tensions remain high as the controversy continues. In a 2023 interview, the “Say So” singer discussed feeling like her fans are over-invested in her life without knowing her.

Doja Cat stated, “My theory is that, subconsciously, I am not real to someone if they have never met me in real life.”

People assume authority over them when they become engaged to someone. They feel as though that individual is a part of them.”

Earlier this month, Doja Cat returned to Coachella to headline weeks 1 and 2 of the Southern California desert music festival. She made her Coachella debut in 2022.

Roisin O’Connor gave the album four stars for The Independent, saying, “She may troll her fans, but the rapper has never sounded more serious.” “At various points across the album, Doja Cat channels her predecessors,” O’Connor added. “Notably, though, there are zero features on this record.
