The first episode of the new series of Death in Paradise has aired, and DI Neville Parker (Ralf Little) seems a bit downtrodden in his search for love.
Could this all be about to change, as the episode’s ending hinted at a return for a former character?
The first episode of the series, the 100th overall, featured Neville looking longingly at a photo of DS Florence Cassell (Josephine Jobert), for whom he had previously developed feelings.
Florence last appeared on our screens in 2022. Florence was one of Death in Paradise’s most popular characters, appearing alongside three of the show’s main detectives: Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall), Jack Mooney (Ardal O’Hanlon), and Neville.
In this article, we will discuss what happened to Florence.
What happened to Florence in Death in Paradise?
Florence was last seen in episode four of Death in Paradise series 11.
The police officer embarked on a dangerous undercover mission in which she pretended to be an au pair to gain the trust of a major suspected criminal, Miranda Priestley, who was suspected of running a massive criminal enterprise in the Caribbean.
Florence traveled to Jamaica for her undercover mission, but Miranda had business in Saint Marie.
Neville and the Commissioner (Don Warrington) were both concerned about Florence’s safety, but she decided to continue her mission.
When Miranda, a business associate, died while visiting Saint Marie, Neville suspected foul play. However, the death appeared to be suicide.
Florence informed Neville that Miranda was lying and stated unequivocally that she believed Miranda was responsible for the murder.
Where is Florence Cassell, the star of Death in Paradise, now?

She stated, “That is all. This is Florence’s big departure. Some of you had suspected for a long time that this would happen. So, congratulations; you are the true detectives. You should come to Saint Marie to fill my position.”
However, the actress recently took to social media to provide fans with an update on her health after admitting she had become ill.
Florence reported that I contracted a virus transmitted by mosquito bites and was out for five days.
“Despite everything, I had to resume shooting after only one day of forced hiatus. It was quite the ordeal. I do not know how I did it, to be honest. I am better now, but I am still feeling weak. I am healing daily.”
Despite her illness, she is working hard and has started promoting her film.
