The character was created by Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore and first appeared in The Walking Dead #2 in 2003. Carl Grimes is the son of Rick and Lori Grimes in both media.

Carl Grimes dies in Season 8 of The Walking Dead. He dies as a result of a walker bite, which the young hero, unfortunately, receives after assisting Siddiq in paying respect to his mother by killing walkers in the hope that their souls will be freed.

“Honor” gives us a good look at the man Carl Grimes has become. He began his apocalyptic journey as a young child, trying to stay safe with his family in a world that was unlike anything he had ever known. He had to deal with things that no child should have to deal with when he was younger.
This is a child who had to kill his mother so she would reanimate. In his father’s absence, he had to take apart the walker version of the man who waited in for his father.
The child was shot more than anyone should ever be shot and survived. He took on responsibilities that most adults couldn’t.
