Born on September 9, 1985, Luka Modrić is a professional football player from Croatia who captains the Croatia national team and plays midfield for La Liga club Real Madrid.
Although he can play as an attacking or defensive midfielder, his primary position on the field is central midfielder. He is arguably the best Croatian football player of all time and one of the greatest midfielders of all time.
Before going on loan to Bosnian team Zrinjski Mostar and Croatian team Inter Zaprešić, Modrić started his professional career in 2003 with Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti claims that Modric has no plans to leave Real Madrid anytime soon. During the pre-match press conference, the coach was questioned regarding Modric’s future with the team before their match against Osasuna.
“I firmly believe that Modric is not contemplating leaving in January, as he regards himself as a crucial player,” he declared.
