In “Espresso,” Sabrina Carpenter Channels Retro Beach Style

Sabrina Carpenter is one of the most anticipated performers set to perform at Coachella this weekend. The pop star, however, managed to find time to release a brand-new single and music video, titled “Espresso,” alongside a colorful music video that captures the spirit of summer, despite her hectic schedule of getting ready for the yearly music festival.

“Espresso” proves that this pop sensation, who is 24 years old, can still perfectly capture the spirit of youth and freedom.

Carrying a message that embraces femininity as a superpower, Carpenter radiates self-assurance while having fun at the beach.

The announcement coincides with Carpenter’s Coachella performance, which will further her successful musical and acting career.

“Espresso” encourages listeners to value uniqueness and take pleasure in the small things in life. Carpenter’s new song can become a summertime hit because it is catchy and groovy. It sounds, sonically, like the ideal day at the beach.

For Carpenter, the new song’s inspiration and meaning are all about self-confidence. In a way, the song is about accepting your confidence in being a bitch and viewing femininity as your superpower.

I have seen a beach vibe ever since I heard the song, specifically this mix of old school and modern surroundings,” the woman claims.

“I wanted to convey the sense of humor that I like to incorporate into all of my videos. To be honest, I also just wanted a pool car.”

The Carpenter parades around the beach (and on a boat!) wearing pinup-style bathing suits. And she makes retro beachwear look good. Carpenter states, “I wanted it to feel fresh but timeless, so I pulled from old and new.”

“Lots of colors and cool contrasts. The coloring of the video was super important to me. The outfits are as hot and fun as you can be if you’re a girl on a beach.”

This latest single follows Carpenter’s successful track record in the music industry, with her previous releases including the holiday EP “Fruitcake” in November 2023 and the deluxe edition of her album “Emails I Can’t Send” in 2022.

With “Feather” peaking at No. 26, the latter helped her soar to new heights and secure her a spot on the Billboard Hot 100.

In addition to her career in music, Carpenter has gained recognition for her acting roles in Disney productions such as “Girl Meets World” and “Adventures in Babysitting.”
She has a devoted following and her versatility as an entertainer has garnered her praise from critics.
