A native of the United States, Eugenie Ann Francis was born on May 26, 1962. She received a Daytime Emmy Award in 2007 for her work as Laura Spencer, a character she originated in the television soap opera General Hospital from 1977 to the present.
Francis additionally made appearances in the soap operas Days of Our Lives (1987–1989), All My Children (1990–1992), and The Young and the Restless (2011) and (2012).

When Ace was abducted, Laura worked with the others to find Victor, and she later went to Greenland with Valentin, Drew, and Curtis to stop Cassadine from “saving” the world with his lethal pathogen.
Laura discovered that Victor had installed a second weather machine after she had foiled his plan, but she knew that she could disable it using the Ice Princess formula she had learned back in the 1980s.
