Three well-known residents of Salem are leaving the unsavory area in their rearview mirrors. Among them is Lindsay Arnold. She has played Sweet Bits co-owner Allie Horton on Days of Our Lives since 2020, and Soap Opera Digest reports that she has wrapped up filming for the Peacock drama.
The Days cast member Arnold is not the only one planning his or her exit, either. Additionally, according to the magazine, both members of the super couple #WilSon, Will Horton and Sonny Kiriakis, will leave the city during the upcoming episodes.
Allie Horton, the character Lindsay Arnold played
In 2007, an unidentified infant played the role of Allie, followed by twins Elle and Ithaca Kremer in 2007 and 2008. In 2008, Ella and Anne Gietzen took over as Allie’s actors, followed by Charlotte and Stella Penzield. From 2009 until 2014, when the character left Salem, Carolyn, and Campbell Rose were the longest-serving actors in the role.
Speculation that Allie will visit Salem again as an adult surfaced in May 2020. This was verified in a commercial featuring the new Allie, and soon after, Lindsey Arnold’s identity as the actress was made public.
On June 10, 2020, Arnold made her debut as Allie. Allie has been said to be like her mother, Sami. Allie was previously played by Kallie Flynn as a teenage Allie in her father Lucas’s nightmare, in which she was portrayed as a depressed, impoverished, and obese alcoholic who was being tormented by her twin brother Johnny DiMera.
In September 2020, it was made known that Arnold was now a contracted member of the program. In January 2023, it was announced that Arnold had been dropped back to recurring. The soap opera’s official announcement of Arnold’s departure came in February 2023.
Why did Lindsay Arnold leave Days of Our Lives?
Allie Horton’s tenure on Days of Our Lives was recently concluded by Lindsay Arnold. Arnold spoke candidly about her choice to leave the show she joined in 2020 in the most recent issue of Soap Opera Digest. It was a mix, she said, according to the journal. Everyone who contributes to Days is someone I adore dearly.
Being on the set is truly incredible. The actors I worked with, the producers, and the directors all have a sincere sense of family about them. For me, that was the most difficult aspect of leaving. I anticipated missing everybody a great deal. I have a great deal of affection for the show and the crew members.
Arnold said she knew it was time
Arnold stated that she believed the time was appropriate. For about a year, I had been considering it. The choice was not for an impulsive one. My thoughts on it were very serious. It seemed appropriate to take a break for a while, look into other options, and reconsider my overall goals.
She benefited greatly from working on a show like Days of Our Lives, especially in the way that it helped her become a braver and more assured actress. Since leaving the show, she has been attending auditions and is eager to see what the future holds for her.
I think the door is open,” Arnold says, indicating his willingness to return to the program at some point. There is no doubt that now and then I would like to drop by and say “Hey.” Just to reiterate, I adore that set and everyone who works there.
