In the latest updates for The Young and the Restless, Victor Newman takes center stage as he makes a solemn vow to protect Nikki at all costs.
Uncovering her recent struggles with alcohol, Victor faces the difficult task of safeguarding Nikki from herself, even if it means confronting painful truths.
Victor’s Determination
The Young and the Restless in teases Victor will vow to protect Nikki at all costs. He will do whatever it takes to save her, even if it means protecting her from herself.
Victor discovered that Nikki had been consuming the home alcohol and became extremely upset, realizing that she had been coerced into leaving the wagon by being given vodka via an IV.
He took it down and secured it, but now he notices that she is not phoning her recently met Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor, Seth.
He also understands that he needs to follow up with her like a teenage drug addict, going through her desk drawers and purse and looking for flasks and other proof.
Although it pains Victor to have to treat his wife like a drug-addled child or teenager, it is necessary for her own well-being. When her alcoholism came to light and she fell off the wagon previously, they both recall those instances.
If it comes down to it, Victor loves Nikki too much to not do whatever it takes to help her dry out. Hopefully, it does not have to come to that.
That is what it must be if in order to protect her, he must shield her from herself.
Testing Loyalty and Friendships
He refuses to allow his child to continue down this path because he is aware that what transpired in Oregon is more to blame for her issues than the alcohol’s side effects.
Victor calls her out on it and lets her know he can tell even though she is trying to act like everything is fine and that she has her act together.
Recently, Nikki forced their friend Lauren to keep her intoxication at the Genoa City Athletic Club a secret from Victor, putting Lauren in a difficult situation.
Nikki was in a terrible situation and Lauren wanted to keep her secret, even though it was not always in Nikki’s best interests.
This put Lauren’s loyalty to the test. Because she was so inebriated, Nikki almost fell down the stairs and might have done so if Lauren had not been there.
She did call Victor and her husband Michael to say it was a “girls’ night out,” but she also put Nikki up in the suite and stayed with her.
Victor was told the truth, but Michael was never informed of it, and he is discreet about his knowledge of it.
