Despite the fact that “Dance Moms” aired for almost five years, fans of the reality show can reminisce about its cast members by watching the two-hour Lifetime special “Dance Moms: The Reunion” on May 1.

One of the most demanding people on reality TV, Abby Lee Miller, was the dance school’s infamously strict director.
What happened to Abby from Dance Moms?
Former “Dance Moms” students of Miller express gratitude that she did not attend the reunion.
In an interview on April 30, 2024, several of Miller’s former “Dance Moms” students revealed they were grateful Miller didn’t participate in Lifetime’s new special “Dance Moms: The Reunion,” which aired on May 1.
“I think it was best having it just be us girls and being able to open up to each other. None of us could have done so if she had been there, in Kalani Hilliker’s opinion. She added that she herself would not have been “as open and vulnerable” if Miller had been on the reunion set.
Paige Hyland, whose mother Kelly was arrested on Season Four of the show for striking Miller in the face during an argument, stated that if Miller had been there, she would not have agreed to take part in the reunion.
“The whole idea was to create a safe environment where we could be vulnerable and think things through,” the woman said, “but it seems like we would have been afraid to speak up.”
Which cast members of “Dance Moms” are still in contact with Abby Lee Miller?
The majority of the Dance Moms cast members do not communicate with Abby anymore. JoJo Siwa and Kalani Hilliker said they were still in contact with Abby while promoting the Dance Moms reunion in April 2024; however, Chloe Lukasiak, Kendall Vertes, Brooke Hyland, and Paige Hyland disclosed they were not.
Jojo said in an interview that she still talks to Abby “on a weekly basis. ”She said she has a “great” relationship with her former dance teacher and added, “She is a great human in my life.”
