In the NBC comedy television series The Office, Ed Helms plays the fictional character Andrew Baines Bernard, originally known as Walter Baines Bernard Jr.
The Office’s season premiere features Andy’s character as the Regional Director of Sales at the Dunder Mifflin branch in Stamford, which later merges with the Scranton branch.
Andy punches a hole in an office wall in episode 14 and gets sent to anger management class after Jim plays practical jokes on him repeatedly.
Why did Erin and Andy break up?
When Erin learned that Andy had previously been engaged to accounting student Angela Martin, their enamored feelings for one another soured.
With this revelation, Erin felt that she could never trust Andy and that he was dishonest, so they would never make sense.
It was not unexpected that Erin was upset with Kelly and Ryan, two office workers with whom she had become close over a number of episodes, as it seemed to her that they did not value her as much as she did.
On the other hand, since Andy did admit that he was going to tell her but did not know how this was also a prime example of bad timing and misunderstanding.
It was an extremely difficult circumstance that aroused sympathy on all sides.
Episode 10 of season 6, “Murder,” saw Andy ask Erin out after they had been teasing and growing fond of one another from a distance.
The only issue was that Erin did not realize he was serious because they were playing a role-playing game at the time. In “The Delivery,” a few episodes later, Andy tried asking Erin out again by fax, and this time it worked.
It was shocking that Erin and Andy on The Office split up twice after years of dating and flirting.
It felt like Erin and Andy had what it took to rank among the Scranton branch’s best couples in a show that features some grand office relationships at its core, like Jim and Pam or Michael and Holly.
Erin and Andy might not have been friends for as long as Jim and Pam, but they still had a similar carefree and playful relationship.
But under all of their goofy songs and jokes, there were a lot of serious problems that they were too young to handle.
It was evident when Andy grew even more unlikeable in season 9 that Erin and Andy had to mature as people before they could mature as a couple.
Though there were glimpses of a romantic relationship between the two, it seemed undestined as the writers’ schedule conflicts and creative choices repeatedly forced them to alter their original plans.
