General Hospital, commonly abbreviated as GH, is a renowned American daytime television soap opera that holds a prominent place in television history.
It premiered on April 1, 1963, and Guinness World Records recognizes it as the longest-running American soap opera in production, as well as the second-longest in American history after Guiding Light.
Since her debut in October 2016, Charlotte has been played by a diverse group of talented young actresses. Scarlett Fernandez initially portrayed her as someone who grew up before our very eyes on the small screen.
After Fernandez waved goodbye in 2021, the baton was briefly passed to Amelie McLain and AnaSofia Bianchi in 2023 before coming full circle with Fernandez’s return in July.
These changes in actresses added nuances to Charlotte’s character throughout the show’s storyline.
Charlotte’s journey has been anything but smooth. She was initially thought to be the child of Claudette Beaulieu and one of two potential fathers.
However, the viewers were caught off guard when Valentin Cassadine was revealed to be her biological father and Lulu Spencer to be her mother.
Charlotte’s plot has been fraught with custody battles and emotional turmoil, giving the actresses plenty of opportunities to showcase their abilities.
What happened to Charlotte on general hospital?
Charlotte has been stalking the former WSB spy and causing trouble to protect her beloved papa, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), from what she perceives to be Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes’) wicked ways.
Things recently escalated when Anna discovered an intruder in her apartment and opened fire. The intruder was identified as Charlotte.
Fortunately, Charlotte survived the shooting, but she is now more convinced than ever that Anna is a threat to everyone, particularly Charlotte.
Unfortunately, Charlotte’s portrayer was also hospitalized, albeit for very different reasons. The actress revealed that she had a tumor, which she had named “Tyler,” removed.
Fernandez shared two photos of herself on Instagram, one showing a close-up of her heavily bandaged right foot.
In the caption, she wrote, “Tyler, the tumor has been expelled! Thank you to my amazing surgeon, Dr. Bell, and all of the wonderful nurses at [St. Luke’s Health].”
GH viewers, admirers of the actress’s work, and other well-wishers flocked to the post to express their condolences and wishes for a speedy recovery.
Mandy Bonarrigo wrote, “Praying that you heal quickly! Your recent work on GH has been amazing, and it got me watching again to see what was going on with Charlotte!
And you’re as beautiful as ever! God bless”. “On screen and off, you make hospital beds look good.” Meanwhile, Mickeys hazarded a guess that, no, make that, accused, “Anna did it.”
Charlotte from General Hospital is not the only one who has recently undergone surgery.
