Greg Vaughan is elaborating on his decision to leave Days of Our Lives three weeks after making it public. He played Eric Brady on the soap opera for over ten years.
The Daytime Emmy winner claims he began considering leaving the soap in 2017, shortly after he returned to the canvas after a nine-month break, in an interview published in the most recent issue of Soap Opera Digest.
He regrets telling the magazine that “a lot of things that were said to me or promised to me [storyline-wise] never came to pass.” “I didn’t feel like I was receiving all of the information that was being conveyed to me. I experienced myself as a glorified extra in everyone else’s narrative.
“It was time,” he continued. “My deal was over, and that was it.”
The former employee of General Hospital continues by saying that the Days management worked hard to persuade him to stay.
