Kesha Changes “TikTok” Lyric about Sean “Diddy” Combs During Coachella 2024 Duet

Reneé Rapp invited Kesha onstage during her set at Coachella on Sunday, where the duo performed Kesha’s “Tik Tok,” the song from her 2010 debut album, Animal.

Rapp introduced her surprise guest and remarked, “I think this is the hottest person on Earth.” “Everyone, join your fucking hands in support of Kesha.”

Kesha’s waking up a little differently these days. When Kesha made a surprise appearance at Coachella alongside Reneé Rapp, in Indio, California, wearing a tank top that read, “I am mother,” the singer made a clear statement in the opening line of her 2010 song. Moreover, she changed a longstanding lyric to her song “TikTok” that references Sean “Diddy” Combs.

During her April 14 performance, Kesha sang, “Wake up in the morning like f–k P. Diddy,” instead of, “Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy.” And in footage shared on social media, both she and Rapp can be seen holding up their middle fingers.

The change in lyrics is significant given Kesha’s sexual assault claims against her former producer and label owner, Dr. Luke, and recent news about Sean “P. Diddy” Combs: Several people have filed civil lawsuits against Combs in recent months, alleging sex trafficking, sexual assault, and physical abuse against him. Last month, his house was raided as part of a federal sex-trafficking investigation.

Diddy was accused of having regular sex workers in a lawsuit filed recently by music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones. Model Jade Ramey, who is mentioned in Jones’ lawsuit, recently refuted Jones’ assertions to ET.

According to Jones’ lawsuit against Diddy, Ramey was one of “the women who were paid a monthly fee to work as Mr. Combs’ sex workers.”

It is not the first time Kesha has changed the lyrics while performing; this change coincides with legal issues for the rapper. The 37-year-old sang, “Wake up in the morning feeling just like me,” according to The Hollywood Reporter when she performed in Los Angeles in November as part of her Only Love tour.

That performance took place the day after Combs’ ex-girlfriend of more than ten years, Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura, filed a lawsuit against him in New York, alleging that he had abused her physically and sexually during their relationship.

Aside from Kesha’s brief appearance, Rapp passionately performed tracks from her first EP, “Everything to Everyone,” and her full-length album, “Snow Angel.” Towa Bird also joined her for the song “My Tummy Hurts.”
