The long-awaited second season of Netflix’s hit Arabic original, Al-Rawabi School for Girls, has arrived with a surprising twist: an entirely new cast.
This bold move comes after a two-year hiatus following the critically acclaimed first season.
This raises the question of whether the show can recreate its magic without the characters viewers grew to know and love through Season 1’s captivating six episodes.
Noor Taher delivers a standout performance as Layan in the first season of Alrawabi School for Girls. Layan has been portrayed as the school’s biggest bully, harassing and shaming students based on their appearance.
While some may choose to focus solely on her negative personality traits, I believe she is one of the most devoted friends in the first season.
However, she was extremely hostile to those whom she considered to be her opponents! Layan has no middle ground in her actions; she is either friendly or a nightmare!
What happened to Layan in AL Rawabi School?
Layan’s character had taken a complete u-turn by the end of the first season. She had stopped being vile to the other girls and was only invested in her affairs by that point.
However, she was unaware of Mariam’s plan to exact revenge for her humiliation at school.
When Layan skipped school again to meet her boyfriend, Mariam planned to tell her family. She knew Layan’s decision to go out with her boyfriend would enrage her extremely controlling brother, Hazem. Mariam gave him Layan’s location, and he immediately set out to find her.
When he arrived at Layan’s location, he noticed her hugging her boyfriend and shot her on the spot. Mariam, on the other hand, had no idea Layan’s brother could kill her in the name of honor.
She must have assumed that Layan would get what she deserved, so she ignored Noaf and Rania’s warnings about the consequences.
How many episodes are there in AlRawabi School for Girls Season 2?
Season 2 of AlRawabi School for Girls has already aired six episodes. Season 2 has quickly risen to the top of the ratings charts across the MENA region.
Tima Shomali, Shirin Kamal, and Islam Alshomali, the series’ creators, expertly transport us back to the claustrophobic world of privileged teenage schoolgirls while addressing a distinctly modern struggle: social media obsession and bullying.
