Hikaru Nakamura, also known as GMHikaru, a Super Grandmaster and well-known Twitch streamer, and Woman Grandmaster Atousa Pourkashiyan got married.

In 2000, when she was 11 years old, she made her national team debut for Iran. Since then, she has participated in nine Olympiads, six of them on a single boat.

She recently relocated to the United States and switched federations last December in order to represent the United States.

Atousa shared a post regarding their wedding on her official Instagram page, which sparked a flood of congratulations from Hikaru's ardent supporters.

In June, Atousa went to Stavanger with her future spouse and competed in the open tournament that was held with the main Norway Chess Competition.

Nakamura won the competition and recorded one of his biggest victories in recent memory, so it appears that the additional backing was a success.
