Vince Fresh Colston, the DJ, is aware that perseverance is rewarded. The 18-year-old from Trussville began performing music for gatherings at The Omny, an event space on Bessemer Super Highway that his mother used to own.
“I liked being in entertainment and I liked the energy of performing before people,” he said. “After watching other DJs get the crowd hyped up and make money, I got excited. Most people hate when they see others doing well, but I was motivated to make it to their level, or even higher.”
When he decided to become a full-time DJ, his parents contacted Birmingham-based Off the Chain Management LLC.
He has performed in the Never-Ending Summer European Takeover Tour, featuring rap artists G-Eazy, Dolla Sign and Lil Uzi Vert.
What happened to YBN Fresh?
YBN Fresh has been involved in an awful accident.
In Moreno Valley, California, on September 16, 20-year-old YBN Fresh (Vince Colston) was hit by a car while riding his motorcycle. Through the grace of God, and the support of family and friends praying for his healing, Vince has fought through two major brain surgeries and is fighting for his life.
His parents, Victor and Lisa Colston, are beloved members of the community. They both are entrepreneurs and have given tirelessly to others in need. They quickly left their Atlanta-based businesses, family (who served as their support system), and way of life behind to help their son on the West Coast after learning the tragic news.
Who is YBN signed to?
Atlantic Records
Established by Atlantic Records in October 1947, Ahmet Ertegun and Herb Abramson are two American record labels. With a focus on jazz, R&B, and soul music by artists like Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Wilson Pickett, Sam and Dave, Ruth Brown, and Otis Redding, Atlantic became known as one of the most significant American labels over the course of two decades, beginning with the release of its first recordings in January 1948.
Does YBN still exist?
Nahmir announced the official dissolution of the collective on Twitter on August 6, 2020. Cordae implied that the collective disbanded, and he changed his stage name from YBN Cordae to just Cordae.
Although we believe Vince will make a 100% recovery, we anticipate the road ahead will be long with many challenges to overcome. In the music and entertainment industries, Fresh has had a gracious influence; prayer and support are required.
