Andress, a 32-year-old country singer, was being compared to Fergie after her singles “Wishful Drinking” and “More Hearts Than Mine” charted on the Billboard 100 following what some called a “botched anthem.”
Due to its distinctive flair, the former Black Eyed Peas singer’s 2018 performance of the anthem before the NBA All-Star game went viral.
Even the players on the bench started laughing when Fergie performed the hit song in a jazzier manner.
Alec Bohm of the Phillies is seen smiling in videos from the Home Run Derby, an MLB competition where players compete for the most home runs hit, while Andress sings what many have called an off-pitch anthem.
She said, “Last night, that was not me.” “I apologize for that rendition to MLB, all of the fans, and my country. I will update everyone on my experience in rehab. I hear it’s super fun.”
She declared that her single “Colorado 9” would be released on July 24 ahead of the Derby on Monday. Her Instagram has relatively few posts, focusing on her music, and the comments are turned off.
The country music duo Brothers Osborne offered support to Andress before she released her statement regarding the anthem.
They posted on social media, saying, “I know everyone is here for laughs, but as someone who has seen her sing many times live, she is incredibly talented.”

Andress was not the only one to get negative attention for their anthem performances. Roseanne Barr defended her performance after receiving backlash during a San Diego Padres game in 1990.
