American reality television program, My 600-lb Life debuted in 2012 on the TLC network. Each episode follows a year in the life of a morbidly obese person, who usually starts the show weighing at least 600 pounds (270 kg). It also shows the individuals’ struggles to lose weight.
Dolly Martinez also appeared on My 600-lb Life season 10 to improve her mental and physical health through weight loss. With the help of Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, the Houston-based bariatric surgeon known on the show as “Doctor Now,” the Fort Worth native wanted to bring positive change into her life.

What happened to Dolly on 600 Pound Life?
Dolly wasn’t authorized to undergo bariatric surgery due to not having reached the desired weight loss goal set by the medical team.
She was facing problems with mobility, breathing, and congestive heart failure. Dolly thought weight loss surgery was an option, as she had lost 40 pounds within the show’s given timeframe, but Doctor Now told her it was mandatory to reach the target.
The doctor encouraged Dolly to follow the diet plan given to her by the medical team, and to take responsibility for improving her lifestyle.
After Dolly’s drug-addicted father left her, she and her mom were on their own. Later, as the cast member of My 600-lb Life season 10 grew older, she got married to an abusive partner.
Regretfully, Dolly’s mother and she had a tense relationship over time. After moving in with her mother, she decided to leave and is now staying at a homeless shelter.
Even though the TLC show did not follow Dolly Martinez’s journey to its end, she maintains an active Instagram account where she shares both significant and small life updates.
Dolly’s bio states:

Upon My 600-lb Life viewers’ concerns and curiosity, Dolly replied to one of the comments under her pictures that she and her mom had resolved their issues. Dolly and Philip are living together in Texas as of June 2024.
Martinez frequently shares photos of herself with her mother on social media. Dolly Martinez thanks everyone in her support system and says she loves everyone in her close circle.
