From Tuesday, Nov. 14 to Friday, Nov. 17, BBC Radio 2’s Vernon Kay will put his endurance to the test in a series of marathons and ultramarathons to benefit BBC Children in Need.
Kay, the presenter of Radio 2’s mid-morning program, which airs from 09:30 to noon, Monday through Friday, has been tasked with traveling four days in a row, solely on foot.

Who is Vernon Kay?
Born on April 28, 1974, Vernon Charles Kay is a gifted English broadcaster and former model.He hosted T4 on Channel 4 from 2000 to 2005.
He has also hosted a number of shows on ITV, such as Splash! (2013–2014), 1000 Heartbeats (2015–2016), Beat the Star (2008–2009), Just the Two of Us (2006–2007), The Whole 19 Yards (2010), and All Star Family Fortunes (2006–2015).
Vernon. Charles Kay, the older son of Norman, a truck driver, and Gladys, was born on April 28, 1974, and raised in Bolton, Greater Manchester. His younger brother, Stephen, is a primary school teacher.
He went to St. Joseph’s RC High School in Horwich, which is close to Bolton, before attending St. John Rigby College on Gathurst Road in Orrell for two years.After graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University with a degree in environmental science.
Between 2004 to 2012, Kay facilitated his own show on BBC Radio 1, then from 2015 to 2017, he facilitated his own show on Radio X.
He has served as the primary presenter for Formula E’s live coverage on English-speaking regions and platforms worldwide since the beginning of the 2018–2019 season.
Kay was revealed in 2023 to succeed Ken Bruce as the next mid-morning anchor on BBC Radio 2 starting in May of that same year.
