Lindsay’s clattering husband, Patrick, revealed to a family acquaintance that his wife had mental health concerns. He also expressed concern that she might be experiencing withdrawal symptoms from an anxiety medication from a month before.
Their acquaintance reportedly described Lindsay to authorities during a dinner date with their pals on January 22, two days before the alleged incidents.
Series of event
During her initial appearance in district court earlier this year, the prosecution described the allegedly violent series of events that took place in the family’s Duxbury home on January 24.
They said Clancy strangled the children with exercise bands while her husband was preparing supper and then attempted suicide by jumping from a second-story window.
When Patrick, Clancy’s husband, arrived home, he reportedly discovered her injured on the ground outside. While making a 911 call, he asked his wife where the kids were, and she replied that they were in the basement.
Jennifer Sprague, an assistant district attorney, testified in court in February that Patrick Clancy could be heard going into the basement and begging for his kids as the 911 call was still going on.
Where is Lindsay Clancy now?
Lindsay Clancy is accused of killing her three children, according to the indictment. Lindsey Clancy murdered her kids.
Then comes the sound of her husband searching for his kids and crying in shock and anguish. His screams grow louder and more pained as time goes by.
At the same time, Callan passed away at Boston Children’s Hospital from his injuries three days later.
The state’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that Callan died as a result of complications connected to hypoxia, while Cora and Dawson were both declared dead, according to the district attorney’s office.
Lindsay Clancy, 32, is charged with three charges of murder and three counts of strangulation in connection with the deaths of Callan Clancy, 8 months, Cora, 5, and Dawson, 3.
She had already been charged in Plymouth District Court. Following Friday’s grand jury indictments, the case has been moved to Plymouth Superior Court, which typically handles more serious offenses.
Her mental health
During the arraignment in February, Sprague and Clancy’s defense attorney, Kevin J. Reddington, provided starkly different accounts of Clancy’s mental condition prior to the alleged murders.
Clancy was a devoted mother, according to Reddington, whose mental state had deteriorated in the months following the birth of her youngest child. He added that Clancy had been prescribed more than a dozen mental medications between October 2022 and January 2023.
After he left the house and more than a week after the alleged killings, Clancy reportedly informed her husband that she experienced a “moment of psychosis” in which a guy had asked her to kill the kids and herself.
Patrick Clancy, according to the prosecution, eventually testified to the police that neither his wife nor he had ever had “psychosis” or heard voices.
Lindsay Clancy’s Treatment
Clancy was admitted to Tewksbury Hospital for mental health care after receiving medical attention for her wounds. She is being treated at a medical institution while being held in custody without bail, according to the district attorney’s office.
She will thereafter be accused of the new claims in Plymouth Superior Court. Reddington has been contacted by Boston.com for comment regarding the most recent accusations.
