The actor disclosed that his larger jawline was actually the result of an old injury in a 2022 Men’s Health interview. In 2013, Efron fell while jogging in his socks, hitting his chin on the granite corner of a fountain.
He lost consciousness due to the severity of the injury, and upon awakening, his chin bone protruded from his face.

But Efron had a break from physical therapy back in 2021 while he was in Australia, which explains why he looked different at that time. He clarified, “The masseters just got big. They just grew.”
