He first suggested the idea on 4chan in 2014, and after encouraging feedback, he decided to start developing it.YandereDev distributes test builds of the game on a regular basis for debugging purposes.
YandereDev announced cooperation with tinyBuild on March 1, 2017, to assist him in polishing, promoting, and distributing the game.
YandereDev announced on June 10, 2018, that its cooperation with the company ended in December 2017.

YandereDev has accepted allegations of grooming a 16-year-old child through Discord. This shocked his fans; they were left in disbelief and got very angry over the YouTuber.
