What happened to Raymond Arroyo from FOX News? The World Over with Raymond Arroyo

Raymond Arroyo is an American writer, producer, and journalist. In 1996, he created the EWTN news program The World Over Live and authored the Will Wilder series.

On February 21, 2024, Arroyo garnered controversy by suggesting on Fox’s The Big Weekend Show that the recent release of Donald Trump’s $400 sneakers is connected to a loss of support for President Joe Biden among black voters because the former is “connecting with Black America – because they love sneakers!”.

The View co-hosts Sara Haines and Ana Navarro blasted his comment as racist, saying, “If I said that right here today, we would be celebrating my last day here at the show.”

What happened to Raymond Arroyo?

Since provoking controversy last month when she asserted that black voters would back Donald Trump for president because “they love sneakers,” Fox News pundit Raymond Arroyo has disappeared from the network’s speakers.

Nevertheless, his almost daily appearance on Ingraham’s show abruptly ended in late February when his on-air assertion that Trump would receive black votes for his new sneakers went wrong on social media and drew harsh criticism.

The segment was mostly ignored until X days later when a video of Arroyo’s comments went viral and Arroyo was attacked by black columnists and radio hosts.

Journalist James E. Causey of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel said, “If conservatives think black people are so simpleminded that shiny sneakers will sway them to vote, it shows you how disconnected they remain from the community.”

A request for comment from Fox News and Arroyo was not answered.
