What happened to Rashee Rice? Will Rashee Rice be out for the season?

Rashee Marquan Rice plays wide receiver in the National Football League for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Following a knee injury sustained during Kansas City’s Week 4 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, Rice was placed on injured reserve. When Rice attempted to make a tackle following an interception, he collided with teammate Patrick Mahomes, resulting in the injury.

What happened to Rashee Rice?

Rashee Rice injured his knee in a freak play during the first quarter of the Chiefs’ game against the Chargers.

Patrick Mahomes threw an interception on a long pass attempt, and Los Angeles defender Kristian Fulton had a clear field in front of him to return it. As he did so, a variety of Kansas City players tried to block him, and the wide receiver managed to extend a hand to knock the ball loose.

Patrick Mahomes attempted to stop the cornerback from gaining additional yards at the same moment, but he instead bullied Rashee Rice. He was in pain and required medical attention because his right knee was hyperextended.

After a while, he was carried off the field and into the changing area. The wide receiver was initially listed as questionable to return, but after he was taken to the X-ray room, it was reported that he was out for the game.

Another gap in the Chiefs’ offense has been created by Rashee Rice’s injury against the Chargers.

While Rashee Rice’s injury was regrettable, it is concerning that he was downgraded to out following a cursory examination in the X-ray room. Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes have proven that it is never too soon to write them off, particularly considering that they won the Super Bowl without the services of a star receiver the previous season.

However, Kansas City’s offensive injuries are starting to pile up. They lost Marquise Brown to injury during the regular season. They signed him this offseason to add an offensive weapon. He needed surgery after suffering a shoulder injury.

The Chiefs have relied heavily on star running back Isiah Pacheco, who has provided a running threat in each of the last two seasons that have resulted in Super Bowl victories. He may be out for up to eight weeks due to a fibula fracture, and he might not be able to play in the remaining games of the regular season.

Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes will need to make plans without their starting running back and two wide receivers if Rashee Rice is sidelined for an extended period. In his halftime sideline interview, the head coach hinted at a warning but declined to provide an update, saying instead, “It’s not good.”

But the good news is that the Chiefs are not looking likely to miss the playoffs, having gotten off to a 3-0 start. They will know from past seasons and many of their best players returning in time to help them make another deep playoff run if they, as predicted, make it to the postseason.
