It’s just a week into Strictly Come Dancing’s live shows, and the cast has already been hit by injuries that left one star in danger. However, Nick Knowles has confirmed that he is performing two days before the next show.
The DIY SOS presenter injured his arm the day after his ballroom debut. He has been doubting his ability to dance in the BBC One show this weekend, and he is currently wearing a sling. Knowles has shared the good news that he has been cleared to dance.
The DIY SOS presenter Knowles and his partner Luba Mushtuk currently have 18 points, which puts them in third last place on the leaderboard. Paul Merson and Pete Wicks are tied for second-last place with 17 points, and Toyah Willcox has the lowest score of just 12 points.
What happened to Nick Knowles?
The DIY SOS star was left in a sling after he hurt himself while changing a car tire.
He was hurried to the hospital for tests, which meant he missed hours of week two rehearsals.
For a while, his future on the show was in doubt, but fortunately, he was permitted to rejoin the competition.
The 62-year-old Nick, decked out in a tweed waistcoat, uploaded a video from the back of a taxi. “I am on my way to the studio for today’s show. I’ve had the two days to learn the dance, he told fans. “I promise to give it everything tonight and will try to perform well.
He spoke about his injury, saying, “Don’t worry about me; the shoulder is getting stronger daily. It has been a tough week, but I am very excited to dance later this evening.
“Thank you for all your wishes and all the love that’s been sent. “And remember, I’m in the bottom four because of last week. If I don’t dance well tonight, I could be in trouble, so please vote to keep me and Luba in the competition!”
The TV star also glided around the rehearsal room with Luba and looked in good spirits. Nick told the cameras, “Luba has been extraordinary. Ever since she discovered my injuries, she has been considering other options. It looks like she redrew this dance ten times.”
