Mike Jerrick returns to ‘Good Day Philadelphia!’
Mike Jerrick of FOX 29 returned to the Good Day Philadelphia anchor desk on Monday following his recovery from prostate cancer surgery.
He made an appearance on the show to further explain his absence. Jerrick stated, “I was not suspended, I was not fired, I did not get into trouble, and I was not on a long vacation.
After doctors noticed the cancer was close to moving beyond the prostate area, Jerrick said, they recommended surgery, which he underwent “a few weeks ago.”
“I could’ve just done nothing. For a few years, I could have just stared at it or exposed it to radiation,” Jerrick remarked. I concurred with the doctor, so let us get that jerk out of me.
The diagnosis came after a prostate-specific antigen blood test, which is usually recommended for men over 40.
He also took a moment to express his gratitude to Dr. Margaux Johnson and Nurse Practitioner Jahna Knobler, and the entire Penn Medicine urology team.
