Matt Rife’s humorous skits about pop culture, current affairs, and human sexuality have recently gone viral on TikTok and Instagram.
The popular comic Matt Rife is definitely someone you’ve seen if you’ve recently been reading through social media.
This summer, the American stand-up comedian and actor went viral on TikTok for his satirical skits about pop culture, current affairs, and human sexuality.
Who is Matt Rife?
In September 1995, Rife was born in Columbus, Ohio. His IMDB page states that he began stand-up comedy when he was 15.
Although he participated in some American football at school, according to Sportskeeda, he relocated to Los Angeles at 17 to focus on his present creative profession.
His Journey
Rife has come a long way, considering he was a relatively unknown road comic outside the comic stratosphere a year ago.
His gigs are currently sold out, and he has a renowned following of over 5 million Instagram followers and a staggering 14 million TikTok admirers.
What happened to Matt Rife?
Matt Rife told us about his clinical depression and anxiety disorder in his new only-fans comedy video. To put it mildly, Rife has had a good year thus far.
Despite his efforts, the comedian had trouble last year even selling a few hundred tickets every show, according to Deadline.
He and his comedian friend Paul Elia started the semi-monthly, socially awkward show Lowkey Outside during the epidemic, and the two would perform in front of tiny groups from the bed of a pickup truck.
Then, some would say, luck—as well as smart algorithms—came through. According to the same source, Rife’s TikTok video titled “The Lazy Hero” received over one billion global views and 16.3 million followers.
At the time of writing, he had already sold 720,000 presale tickets for 300 performances.
A number of the biggest stars in comedy, including Dane Cook, Ralphie May, Finesse Mitchell, Mike Epps, Deray Davis, and Erik Griffin, have travelled the world with Rife, according to IMDB.
His Appearance On Various Shows
Rife has been in many films and TV shows throughout the years, but he is most known for his humorous parts.
He is best known for his time spent hosting Nick Cannon’s reality television show Wild ‘N Out for multiple seasons on MTV.
According to his IMDB profile, the actor also appeared in episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Fresh Off the Boat and films such as The Elevator, Death Link, and Wolf Mountain.
He told Deadline that he wanted to continue acting, saying, “I enjoy acting just as much, if not more, than stand-up.
He added that I just haven’t been doing it as long, and I haven’t been able to get my foot in the door like I have with stand-up.
