Who is Lil Peep?
Lil Peep, whose real name was Gustav Elijah Åhr, was an American rapper and singer-songwriter. His birthday is November 1st, 1996. He belonged to the group GothBoiClique, which did emo rap.
Lil Peep is recognized as a key player in the mid-to-late 2010s emo rap scene, having helped establish an emo revival style of rock music and rap that inspired youth subcultures and misfits.
After being raised on Long Island and born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to Swedish and American parents, Åhr began releasing music on SoundCloud in 2013 under the artist name “Trap Goose.”
Afterward, he changed to Lil Peep since his mom had referred to him as “Peep” since he was an infant. He acquired a great deal of ubiquity on the stage after his 2015 single “Star Shopping” was delivered.
What happened to Lil Peep?
Lil Peep passed on November 15, 2017. Little Peep was just 21 years of age when he left the world with an incidental drug overdose. The news that Lil Peep had died dazed and lamented the music world on November 15, 2017.
On his tour bus outside The Rock in Tucson, Arizona, where he was scheduled to perform that evening, he was discovered unconscious.
It was discovered that the deceased had overdosed on drugs, namely Xanax and fentanyl.
According to toxicology reports, he took Xanax and fentanyl together, which was lethal. Xanax is a prescription medication used to treat anxiety and insomnia. Fentanyl is a potent opioid that is 50–100 times stronger than morphine.
Opioids include substances like morphine, heroin, fentanyl codeine, and others. It is deadly to combine them with benzodiazepines like Xanax.
The central nervous system, which regulates breathing and other essential processes, is weakened by both medications. Combining them can make someone’s breathing become labored or cease entirely.
This may prevent oxygen from reaching the brain and other important organs. Lil Peep posted multiple times on Instagram about his drug use in the final hours of his life.
He made reference to consuming “magic mushrooms” and smoking cannabis. He was seen taking about six white pills in a video, which were probably Xanax.
A few hours prior to his performance, his manager woke him up, but he was not breathing. Little Peep sadly passed away before the ambulance could get there, despite his best efforts to revive him with CPR.
Following his passing, his mother accused her son’s management group of “negligence which contributed to his death.”
In response, his management asserted that they “consistently encouraged Peep to stop abusing drugs” and that they were not bound by any contract to oversee the singer’s private life.
Was Lil Peep dating someone?
Before he passed away, the Swedish-American singer dated at least three well-known women. Emma Harris was the rapper’s first known partner.
From their early friendship, the two developed a fondness for one another in the fifth grade. According to reports, the two moved to California, USA, together, where Lil Peep started focusing on his music career.
Unfortunately, the two started fighting a lot after they moved to California, which led to an intermittent relationship and, eventually, a breakup.
The performer announced his relationship with actress and singer Bella Thorne in 2017, but their brief union was short-lived.
Bella Thorne and he were seen sharing a kiss in Los Angeles. Bella was devastated by the rapper’s untimely passing. She paid her respects to him on Twitter.
The rapper and internet celebrity Arzaylea Rodriguez were romantically involved in 2017. They got together at one of his shows in Los Angeles.
