What happened to Katy Harris in Coronation Street?
After an “overwhelming” struggle with her son, a Coronation Street star breaks down.
The actress, who played Katy Harris in the ITV soap, shared two pictures of her looking upbeat and crying on Instagram as she detailed dealing with ‘sleepless nights.’ She penned, ‘I don’t post things like this because I know there are people out there with real problems, and mine are quite inferior to those.
‘But when I mentioned my “emotional” week in my stories, so many of you reached out to me.’ This week has been tough, and I’ve not coped well.
‘I’ve had a lot of work to do, followed by a lot of sleepless nights that have then led to him being challenging. And there’s a lot of times that I’ve been able to cope with him and his behavior, but this week, it just broke me.’
Lucy-Jo continued: ‘It’s ok to cry, it’s ok to not cope, we’re humans and all have limits, and being a working mom in today’s world is tough. We’re meant to have it all together.
We must balance full-time work and parenting with taking care of our health, finding time to exercise, maintaining a home, remodeling it, preparing and cleaning meals, spending quality time with our children, our partners, our families, and friends, and posting on this site to brag about our incredible lives.
“Life is hard and extremely fast-paced these days,” she said in her conclusion. I just wanted you to know that I understand how you are feeling—overwhelmed, worn out, emotionally spent, and pulled in a lot of different directions—and that it is okay to hit a wall and reach a breaking point. It’s important to feel that and let it all out.
Last October, Lucy confirmed to followers that she has chronic anemia. But I am feeling better now! You have no idea how much I value your generosity. Thank you for all of your lovely and kind letters.
