Karlie Lain Gusé, who was born on May 13, 2002, had an ordinary life until she vanished. Her parents divorced when she was two years old, and after initially living with her mother, Lindsay Fairley, Karlie moved to live with her father Zachary, and his wife Melissa in Bishop, California.

What happened to Karlie Guse?
Karlie Gusé hasn’t been seen since October 2018, when she walked away from her home in Chalfant Valley, California.
The sixteen-year-old Karlie Gusé lived in a small town in Chalfant Valley, with her father Zachary, stepmother Melissa, and two younger siblings.
On October 12, 2018, Karlie told her parents that she was going to her high school’s football game that evening, but she skipped the game to go to a party with her boyfriend and a few friends.
She had smoked marijuana, and her father and stepmother suspected it was “laced” with something because it caused such a strong paranoid reaction.
Melissa claimed that Karlie “looked pale as a ghost” as she ran down the street away from the party when she arrived to pick her up at around 9:00 p.m.
When Melissa got home, she stayed in the 16-year-old’s room and consoled her because she was having trouble falling asleep and was acting strangely and paranoid.
Zachary, Karlie’s father, claimed that his daughter appeared to be high on drugs and speculated that the marijuana might have been tainted with other substances.
Out of concern that evening, he and Melissa are said to have recorded an audio recording of the girl. They intended to show it to her later.
However, sometime during the early morning hours the following morning, Melissa claimed that she woke up to find her stepdaughter missing from the room and the house.
After Zachary and her failed search for Karlie, she canvassed the neighborhood that morning and, by 9:00 am, called the police.
In the search for Karlie, authorities received multiple unsuccessful tips, some alleging that she was last seen walking towards the highway.
The missing girl’s mother, Lindsay Fairley, believes she likely died of a drug overdose. But the Gusés have not given up on finding her because they think she is still alive.
Regarding the ongoing case, FBI Special Agent in Charge Sean Ragan stated, “We will not give up on Karlie.” “People don’t disappear into thin air.”
The Search For The Missing Girl
Zachary and Melissa searched their house and the neighborhood after learning that Karlie Gusé was missing. After two hours of searching, Zachary told his ex-wife what had happened, and filed a missing persons report with the Mono County Sheriff’s Office.
