Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead created the American police procedural action drama television series Chicago P.D.
The program follows the Chicago Police Department’s 21st District Intelligence Unit and uniformed patrol officers as they hunt down those responsible for the majority of the city’s serious crimes on the streets.
The eleventh season of the show, which debuted on January 17, 2024, was renewed by NBC on April 10, 2023. For a twelfth season, NBC renewed the show on March 21, 2024.
Who is Jay Halstead on Chicago P.D.?
Jesse Lee Soffer is a director and actor from America. He played Jay Halstead on the NBC series Chicago P.D. from 2014 to 2022.
He also made guest appearances in Chicago P.D. crossover episodes starring Chicago Med and Chicago Fire, as a member of the main cast.
In season nine, he later married Hailey Upton, a fellow detective. After Antonio resigns and Olinsky passes away, Halstead joins Voight as his right-hand man.
Later, early in season 10, he quits the force, feeling frustrated with the gray area the Intelligence Unit must operate in. He then rejoins the Army to take on a new assignment, chasing drug cartels in Bolivia.
What happened to Halstead on Chicago P.D.?
Halstead, played by Jesse Lee Soffer, is back for season 11 of Chicago PD.
It has been more than a year since Jay’s character exited the police procedural, but despite his official departure, it never felt like his overall arc had been fully wrapped up.
His desire to pursue his craft is one of the reasons he wanted to leave the show after joining its innovative ensemble.
This implies that he wants to try his hand at being behind the camera in addition to being in front of it. “Deadlocked,” the sixteenth episode of Chicago P.D. season 10, marked Soffer’s directorial debut.
But when Soffer returns for Chicago PD season 11, things will be very different because he will not be the show’s primary helmer.
When will Chicago P.D. season 11 air?
Chicago P.D. was renewed for an 11th season back in April 2023, but filming was delayed due to the actors’ and writers’ strikes.
Chicago P.D. then premiered in the US on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at 10 pm Eastern Time Zone on NBC, while it is just now debuting in the UK on Sky Witness and NOW, with the first episode broadcasted at 10 pm on Friday, April 5, 2024.
There isn’t a solo Chicago PD season 11 trailer, but there is a One Chicago trailer, which gives us a glimpse of a struggling Ruzek post-shooting and some of the other beloved P.D. characters amid shots of Chicago Fire and Med.
