Girl Meets Farm is an American cooking television series on Food Network, presented by cookbook author Molly Yeh.
She cooks Midwestern farm meals, influenced by her Jewish and Chinese heritage, on her farm near the Minnesota-North Dakota border.
Molly Yeh, a city transplant who has embraced her new life on the farm, welcomes viewers to her cozy farmhouse on the Minnesota/North Dakota border and shares her love of country life.
The series celebrates the best of Molly’s food, with recipes inspired by her Jewish and Chinese heritage and a taste of the Midwest.
What happened to Girl Meets Farm?
Molly Yeh is coming back to the Food Network.
According to Deadline, Yeh will return to the Food Network in February 2023 on an exclusive two-year deal.
“I am thrilled to be making more episodes of Girl Meets Farm,” Yeh said in a statement at the time. “I enjoy being a member of the Food Network family, and I am still as inspired as ever in the kitchen.
I can’t wait to show our audience what we are cooking up in the coming seasons: more hot dishes, noodles, cakes… please come hungry!”
How did Molly Yeh become famous?
Yeh attended Juilliard to study percussion and met her husband, Nick Hagen. After graduating and spending some time together in Brooklyn, they relocated to Hagen’s family farm on the border of North Dakota and Minnesota, where Yeh focused more than ever on her food blog.
While she was popular in the food world, her Food Network show, Girl Meets Farm, which premiered in 2018, helped her become a household name.
Audiences were drawn to her farm-fresh Midwestern fare, which was influenced by Yeh’s Chinese and Jewish heritage. The show has aired over 140 episodes to date, with many more to come.
Molly Yeh’s net worth in 2023 is estimated to be between $8 million and $10 million, but these figures have not been verified anywhere credible—so take them with a grain of salt (you might want to make that Maldon salt).
Is Girl Meets Farm filmed in her kitchen?
Girl Meets Farm was filmed on Yeh’s farm in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. The property borders North Dakota, but it is located in the Land of 1,000 Lakes!
Yeh films Girl Meets Farm at her actual farm home, but she has a separate kitchen that she uses for filming and a kitchen she uses for her normal use.
Her farmhouse’s original kitchen can be seen on Girl Meets Farm, but when the cameras are not rolling, she and her family spend the majority of their time prepping goodies in an updated, more modern kitchen.
