Here’s a look inside Dan Bongino’s net worth and details on the conservative political commentator’s life.
What happened to Dan Bongino on Fox?
Bongino credited Trump for saving his life by dodging the bullet.
According to a former Secret Service agent, former President Donald Trump saved his life on Saturday—something the agency was unable to do.
On Fox and Friends on Sunday, Bongino remarked, “It is likely armor that is bunting around the front of the stage.” Bongino was a Secret Service agent from 1999 to 2011 and was extremely critical of how they reacted on Saturday.
Other people also had questions, besides Bongino. One day before the event, on Saturday night, a sniper firing an AR-15-style rifle from a rooftop approximately 400 feet away from a campaign rally at the Butler Farm Show in Butler, Pennsylvania, left Trump, the presumed Republican nominee, with injuries to his right ear.
One spectator was killed and two others were injured, the Secret Service said.
The FBI identified the gunman as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, outside of Pittsburgh. Secret Service agents shot and killed Crooks shortly after gunfire broke out at the former president’s rally.
As Bongino praised Trump’s quick thinking, Trump attributed the feat to a higher force.
“Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers yesterday, as God alone prevented the unthinkable from happening,” wrote Trump in a post on Truth Social.
“It is more crucial than ever that we unite, demonstrate our true nature as Americans, stay strong, and refuse to let evil triumph. I truly love our country and love you all, and I look forward to speaking to our great nation this week from the Republican National Convention in Wisconsin.”
Why did Dan Bongino part ways with Fox News?
Dan Bongino, a fiery political commentator for Fox News, has departed. The network said, “We appreciate Dan’s contributions and wish him luck in his future endeavors.”
A former U.S. Secret Service agent who had become known for his sharp defenses of former President Trump while a regular on Fox’s prime-time shows in recent years, Bongino was granted an hourlong evening program on Fox in 2021. The network said his last show was on April 15.
