On April 3, 2016, Anuel AA confronted a huge misfortune in his career when he was arrested soon after leaving a club called Tabaco and Ron Lounge San Juan in Santurce, Puerto Rico.
During his arrest, authorities seized numerous guns, including a Glock gun with a .40 caliber, a Glock model with a .45 caliber, and a Glock model 19 with a 9mm caliber.
Furthermore, nine magazines for guns and over 100 shots were tracked down in the vehicle. In spite of this legal ordeal, Anuel AA’s fan base rallied behind him, coordinating showings of help outside the federal jail in Guaynabo.
Sentencing and Repentance
On July 19, 2017, Anuel AA got a 30-month jail sentence for the ownership of guns. Notwithstanding his detainment, he kept on delivering new music, exhibiting his strength and commitment to his art.
Strikingly, he teamed up with J Balvin, Nicky Jam, and Cosculluela on another rendition of his tune “Ayer,” named “Ayer 2.”
