Is Sam Dingle leaving Emmerdale? Sam Hall shares a goodbye message after Samson’s exit.

James Hooton portrays the fictional character Sam Dingle in the British television soap opera Emmerdale. He made his first appearance in the episode broadcast on February 14, 1995.

Sam was introduced as a prominent member of the “roguish” Dingle family. In his casting, Hooton stated, “I love being part of Emmerdale. The Dingles are just like my family now.” He was supposed to be in the serial for eight episodes.

In this article, we will discuss whether Sam has said goodbye to the show and if he has gone for good.

Is Sam Dingle leaving Emmerdale?

Samson Dingle’s 18-year journey on Emmerdale has officially ended.

Sam Hall, an Emmerdale star, has spoken out following the confirmation of his departure from the show. Rumors were rife that the actor would soon be bowing out of the ITV soap after more than a decade of playing the Dales’ Samson Dingle.

Samson was arrested on Tuesday, August 6, for attacking his former friend Josh Cope. He was later found guilty and given a four-year prison sentence.

There was speculation over who’d grassed on him in the latest instalment, with Cain suspecting that Moira may have done it as revenge for Samson framing Matty for the stabbing at The Hide.

Lydia showed up at the Woolpack to break the news that Samson had received a prison sentence. Then she turned on Moira, accusing her outright of having grassed Samson.

Has Samson left Emmerdale for good?

While Emmerdale did not comment on Samson’s future, it is assumed that this is Samson’s final exit, at least for the time being. Four years is a long time, and even if he’s out in two, that’s still a fair amount of time off our screens.

In an interview back in July, Sam was asked if he had “another 15 years in him” to equal on-screen dad James Hooton’s 30-year career on the soap. Sam replied, “I hope so, yeah,” which suggests he is hopeful of a comeback.

Since no Dingle ever leaves the region, Samson will reappear in the Dales soon!

He finally spoke up about the departure on social media, posting, “So, as you can see, Samson has left the village.”

I am grateful to all of my supporters over the past fifteen years; it has been an amazing journey. Hopefully, we see Samson again.”

The door was left open for Sam to come back, as he confirmed in May. “Don’t worry, as he’s not being killed off. “I think he has some great stories coming up, and I was excited to see the screenplays.”

Viewers were shocked by the decision for Samson to leave after rumors that the character had been axed emerged earlier this year. Now, fans have hit out over his exit storyline, suggesting it wasn’t good enough.
