She has previously served as a judge for the Manhattan Family Court and as a prosecutor. She debuted Judy Justice, a spinoff streaming series on Amazon Freevee, on November 1st, 2021. Judy Justice was a reality court show that promoted the handling of family-related legal conflicts.

Judy graduated from American University in Washington in 1963 with a degree in government. She then enrolled in the Washington College of Law at American University, where she was the only female student in her class. Judy was a corporate lawyer with a cosmetics company in Manhattan by 1965.
Judy quickly left corporate law because she felt it wasn’t a good fit for her and started spending all of her time with her two kids, Jamie and Adam.
She was a full-time mother until 1972, when she began working in the family court system, among other things, prosecuting juvenile offenders.
She enjoyed the role because it was a much better fit for her cold attitude and aggressive approach.
Judge Judy’s married life
Judy married Ronald Levy in 1964, settled in New York City, and graduated from the New York Law School with a doctorate in law. In 1976, she and Ronald Levy got divorced. Levy’s unwillingness to take Judy seriously led to some of the conflict.
She soon met defense lawyer Jerry Sheindlin in a bar, and the two were wed in 1977. Since then, they have remained a couple. Well, except for a minor hitch.
Unfortunately, shortly after this, her father passed away, which negatively impacted Judy’s happiness and her relationship with Jerry.
Due to Judy’s difficulties and the fact that she didn’t feel emotionally supported during the difficult adjustment, the couple filed for divorce in 1990. She rapidly began to reconsider her choice, though.
Just one year later, the couple was remarried, and they’ve been together ever since. In addition, both share five children from their previous marriage.
