Since 1965, Days of Our Lives has delighted fans of soap operas, and viewers are accustomed to the characters’ frequent arrivals and departures.
Many cast members of the TV show have left over the years, and now it might be Drake Hogestyn’s turn.
The Peacock soap opera Days of Our Lives features a character named John Black, played by actor Drake Hogestyn. John became one of the most beloved characters in Days of Our Lives, meanwhile, seeing him go is never easy for fans.

John appeared on the show from November 18, 1985, until January 29, 2009. After a break of around two years, John came back to Salem on September 26, 2011, and has continued his journey since then.

John then informed Marlena, his wife, that he had to leave Salem to locate Catherine’s grave and offer his condolences. John cut off contact with Marlena after landing in Greece, which was the last time she heard from him.

Is John Black leaving ‘days of our lives’?
Currently, no announcements are made on whether John Black is leaving Days of Our Lives or not.
With the character’s protracted absence in Greece, many fans were worried about his place on the show. However, he might be off on his adventures, which could even present the showrunners with the chance to film on location.
Drake Hogestyn has not left the soap opera yet, as he has not announced his departure and is still included in the official cast list. All of these aspects suggest that John Black still has a lot to contribute to the story, especially since the character’s arc contains a lot of unanswered plot points.
The more realistic possibility is that John may have been betrayed by someone he trusted on his journey. The writers can put him in a little danger, as has been the case throughout John’s story. Still, a sudden departure seems implausible given that this is a turning point in the character’s redemption.
