Is Deion Sanders leaving Colorado? Should Deion Sanders leave Colorado for the Jets?

The New York Jets are officially searching for a new head coach. The team fired Robert Saleh after the Week 5 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, and while it’s still early in the season and they’ll look for new guidance, the focus for 2025 and beyond is on getting this search right.

In the past two years., Colorado’s Deion Sanders has emerged as the most attractive college football coach. Given how he uses the media to inspire his group and showcase his skills in Boulder, one would wonder if he could transition to the professional ranks.

Is Deion Sanders leaving Colorado?

Colorado hopes to see Deion Sanders stay on for years to come.

Deion Sanders’ future with Colorado had been unclear, with his two sons and Travis Hunter set to leave after this year while moving on to the NFL, with the school likely to struggle in the coming years.

With superstars Travis Hunter, Shedeur, and Shilo Sanders scheduled to depart for the NFL, Colorado has stated that they hope to have Deion Sanders remain at the school for many years.

In his second season as head coach of the Buffaloes, the former NFL player turned college football coach is leading the team to an impressive 4-1 start. His son, Hunter, is a do-it-all star who could be selected first overall, and he is playing well at quarterback.

However, some had anticipated that Deion would leave and look for another opportunity given that those two, along with his son Shilo, were scheduled to depart this offseason.

The University of Colorado’s athletic director, Rick George, said he hopes Sanders will stay with Colorado and will want him to finish his coaching career with the school.

George remarked, “We hope Coach Prime finishes his career here.” “He can do significant things for us. I think Coach would sit here and tell you that he and I are on the same page about where we want this program to go.

“It’s not a short-term fix and we want to set it up to be sustainable for the future. I think what he’s done is incredible. I like the culture he’s created. I see it daily… I like where we’re at.”

In response to rumors that he might leave Colorado at the end of the season to take over at Florida State, Sanders made provocative remarks last month.

He said, Ask yourself, is there anything you can do better than what you are doing?” What areas of your life need improvement? How can you change it, and are you willing to change it? Only a fool thinks they don’t need change or help. Don’t be that fool.
