Jeremy Renner: Who is he?
Jeremy Renner is a producer, musician, and actor from the United States. He became most well-known for his role as Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Renner made his acting debut as Hawkeye in the 2011 movie “Thor.” He has since appeared in several MCU movies. In addition to his roles in the Avengers films as a whole, Jeremy Renner also starred in the Disney+ limited series Hawkeye, which debuted in 2021. The show follows Clint Barton as he transfers the Hawkeye mantle to Kate Bishop, a new character portrayed by Hailee Steinfeld.
What happened to Jeremy Renner? The accident
On January 1, Renner was attempting to assist his 27-year-old nephew Alex Fries in freeing a pickup truck stuck in the snow when he was struck and killed by his Sno-Cat, a sizable snow plow that weighs at least 14,330 pounds.
Renner got out of his Sno-Cat and walked over to see how Fries was doing. The actor was unable to stop the plow from striking Fries because he got caught underneath its tread. “He got out to tell me something, and then that is when it started coming at me, full force,” Fries is heard telling law enforcement in the video that ABC News was able to obtain. Renner’s hat is seen in the video hidden beneath the snow plow by a deputy.
The aftermath of the accident: Blunt Chest Trauma
Following the incident, Renner underwent surgery for blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries, and he later disclosed that he had broken over 30 bones.
Following the incident, the actor posted updates about his recovery to his social media followers. In February, he posted a video of himself receiving physical therapy with the caption “Whatever it takes,” alluding to “Avengers: Endgame.”
Renner spoke candidly about his recovery earlier this month during an interview with ABC News’s Diane Sawyer, claiming that he remembers “all of” the suffering: “I stayed awake throughout every second. Everything about how it feels matches your expectations.
Renner’s latest appearance
At the Disney+ reality series “Rennervations” premiere on April 11, Renner made his first public appearance. The show centers on renovating used cars for underserved communities all over the world. He addressed the media and used a cane to navigate the red carpet at the Westwood Regency Village Theatre in Los Angeles.
Renner told Variety, “I feel a little bit bruised right now, but I promise you this show is what is pushing me to get better and makes me want to get better every day. I determined that I would cross this carpet. I am now taking pleasure in it. Without a date, it would have lost momentum and excitement, and I would have been extremely, extremely, extremely frustrated. We are here, which makes me very happy right now.
Jeremy Renner’s recovery video
He posted a video of himself in which he demonstrates how he regained his walking ability following his accident. In the video, which was posted on May 6, Renner can be seen using a walker to help with his walks.
It becomes clear as the video goes on that Jeremy is walking more assuredly and without a walker. He proudly shared his amazing journey of growth with his followers and captioned his photo, “My PT made this for reference and to remember, you cannot walk unless you take one step at a time!”
