Taylor Swift and Matty Healy have called it quits on their short romance.
“Taylor and Matty separated. According to a source who spoke with ET, “Taylor’s friends want what’s best for her and aren’t surprised that their relationship dissolved since she recently got out of a long-term relationship.” “They are both extremely busy and realized they’re not compatible with each other,” the source added.
The breakup was first reported by TMZ.
Start of Taylor and Matty’s romance
In April, a month before Swift and Healy began circulating romance rumors, ET exclusively reported that Swift and Joe Alwyn had ended their six-year relationship.
Taylor was first connected to Healy when he was spotted at the Nashville stop of her period visit in May. At the very end of the week, the couple were captured together.
Shortly after that, a source told ET that “Taylor and Matty like each other.” Taylor has a keen interest in Matty, and they are living it up by hanging out. Taylor is also incredibly talented and awesome, according to Matty. They dated momentarily previously.”
“Taylor and Matty have been hanging out recently and Jack Antonoff reconnected them,” a different source told ET.
Swift and Healy were spotted holding hands while on a dinner date with Antonoff and Margaret Qualley, Antonoff’s fiancée, not long after.
Controversies Matty Healy created
Their whirlwind romance was not without controversy. Observers pointed to The 1975 musician’s propensity for problematic, self-described “pranks,” which raised questions about Swift’s relationship with him. Fans will recall that when Healy appeared on The Adam Friedland Show podcast in February, the hosts made disparaging jokes about rapper and Swift collaborator Ice Spice.
Healy told a story about masturbating to a p*rn franchise called “Ghetto Gaggers,” but he didn’t say anything offensive. The singer laughed along with the hosts. He later disregarded the reaction in Another Yorker profile and let the magazine know that the analysis he got was prudence flagging.

Swift and Healy were practically inseparable when she wasn’t performing, even though the “Anti-Hero” singer never addressed public speculation or rumors about their relationship.
Healy’s recent return to a once-regular concert practice of kissing anyone in the crowd sparked rumors of a breakup. On Friday night, at the 2023 NorthSide Celebration in Eskelunden, Denmark (their rendition of Coachella), the 34-year-old vocalist detected a male safety officer and established a wet one on him while performing “Looters” with his band.
Healy, who had a microphone and a champagne bottle in his hands, got down on his knees and outdid himself by pulling him in and kissing him on the lips. The male security guard, who was standing in front of the stage and wearing a reflective vest, appeared to make a kiss-on-the-cheek motion.
Even though it is typically what he does when performing “Robbers,” the gesture caused the crowd to go wild. While performing the 2013 track from their self-titled album, Healy has been known to kiss fans, male or female. In November 2022, he kissed a male fan on stage, and the following month, he did the same thing at several band performances.
