Axew is the focus of attention at this year’s Pokemon GO Community Day, which is about to take place. During the event, trainers can catch more Tusk Pokemon when they appear in the wild. In addition, players will have access to a Special Research questline that offers a variety of challenges and rewards.
Beginning in January 2018, Community Day is a regular occasion in Pokémon GO that highlights a specific Pokémon. A Pokémon chosen by Niantic will have its spawn rate raised for a day each month for a set period. The Shiny appearance rate of the featured Pokémon will also be increased.
Other benefits of Community Day include the extended duration for Lure Modules, Event Boxes, and more, as well as the featured Pokémon learning at least one exclusive attack through evolution.
Pokémon that appeared in Community Days from January through November of the same calendar year will return in December, even though Community Days are generally only one day each month.
Community Day Pokémon from the current and past years will reappear via raids, eggs, and higher spawns during the two-day event held in December. There is always another opportunity to capture that Pokémon (and its Shiny variant) if you are unable to participate in a particular Community Day.
Niantic also revived Community Days from the past with Community Day Classic! This spin-off event, which debuted in January 2022, was similar to Community Days from 2018 but included some extra event benefits (namely, photobomb encounters).

Trainers will also have access to activities related to field research, but it’s not yet known if these will be Timed or compensated for Special Research. If there are Timed Research assignments, these must be finished on the day of the Community Day event since they have a deadline.
For the length of the event, there is also a ticketed Special Research tale called Keeping Sharp that can be purchased in-game for $1 or the equivalent in your local currency. You may buy this ticket from the in-game shop, and you can also give it to your friends by selecting the “Gift” option.
