The 1982 classic’s follow-up, Blade Runner 2049, featured him as its star. Ford later provided the voice for the 2019 animated comedy The Secret Life of Pets 2 and made an appearance in the 2020 film The Call of the Wild, which was adapted from the novel by Jack London.
He then costarred in the hugely successful prequel to Yellowstone, 1923 (2022-), on television alongside Helen Mirren. Ford played the patriarch of a Montana ranching family in it, which was his first significant television role.
Ford’s character has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in the drama series Shrinking (2023–), in which he next made an appearance. The show centers on a trio of therapists who are dealing with various problems.
