A follow-up to Detective Pikachu will be released. With Tim Goodman’s coffee-loving Pikachu and his voice that eerily resembles Will Arnett, you will be able to solve mysteries once more in October.
The mystery fantasy comedy film Pokémon Detective Pikachu, which Rob Letterman is directing, was released in 2019. The movie is a loose adaptation of the 2016 video game of the same name, which is based on the Pokémon franchise.
A story by Hernandez, Samit, and Nicole Perlman, was written by Letterman, Dan Hernandez, Benji Samit, and Derek Connolly. Legendary Pictures and Toho were responsible for its production.
In addition to being the first live-action Super Mario Bros. video game adaptation since then, it was also the first live-action Pokémon film.
The First Detective Pikachu Game:
2018 saw the release of the first Detective Pikachu game for the DS. While looking into the disappearance of Tim Goodman’s missing father, he teamed up with a strangely verbose Pikachu wearing a goofy hat to solve several mysteries in and around Ryme City.
Detective Pikachu, a Pokémon game, had a story that was essentially a Nintendo adaptation of a James Bond movie, as well as some oddly dark themes. A media executive is planning disasters related to Pokémon so that he can report on them and strengthen the position of his news organization. That essentially sums up Tomorrow Never Dies.
Detective Pikachu Returns:
Detective Pikachu Returns, which was revealed during Wednesday’s Nintendo Direct, will bring Pikachu and his human partner Tim Goodman (who is “wearing his iconic red hoodie,” as Pikachu notes) back together to solve Pokémon-related mysteries.
I would still like to see Detective Pikachu Returns attempt to adapt an Ian Fleming short story, even though it does not appear that it will. Even some titles have come to mind: License to Marill, From Sinnoh, With Love, On Team Rocket’s Secret Service, Goldeen-eye, Thundurus-ball, and Thundurus-ball.
Detective Pikachu Returns returns on October 6th.
What is in the trailer?
Although MewTwo makes an appearance, which seems cool and/or ominous, the trailer does not say what kinds of mysteries they will solve or make many other plot-related suggestions.
The majority of Detective Pikachu Returns appears to be a continuation of what made the original game intriguing as well as a stranger, more in-depth look at the world of Pokémon, showcasing people and their pet pocket monster friends interacting in amusing and peculiar ways.

The first trailer featured the small detective waking up with his partner Tim Goodman and drinking his preferred coffee as different regions of Ryme City and the Pokemon living there blinked across the screen.
While Pikachu and Tim are being challenged by the legendary Pokemon Mewtwo, the mayor of Prime City proclaims “Pokemon Friendship Week.”
Throughout the trailer, various Pokemon from different species are seen residing in Ryme City, including an Inteleon caring for some flowers in a garden, Politoed and two Poliwags performing on stage, and a Slowpoke dousing the streets with water while wearing a fedora.
In one scene, Detective Pikachu is seen attempting to ride a Growlithe. Detective Pikachu will also interact with some Pokemon to solve cases.
