They have outdone themselves this year, just when the community needs them the most. Mariah Carey
Mariah, slay queen!
Although terms like “divas,” “queens,” and “icons” wouldn’t be offensive, they are limiting who she is. She is undoubtedly a master of both music and performance. Her path in popular culture has been redefined and embodied by her. She has embodied the genuine meaning of “Pride” and generously given of it.
Pride is the awareness of one’s worth. For a group of people who have experienced social exclusion, it represents confidence and self-respect. It is a form of empowerment that results from a single, common identity, culture, and history.
Mariah wasn’t just one of the pop performers at Pride; she was a cornerstone of its contemporary design. In the words of Jonathan Riggs of Shondaland, “Mimi (Mariah) emancipated us all.” The LGBTQ community is defined by her as being “Legendary, Gorgeous, Beautiful, Tantalising, and Quality.”
Mariah used images from Grindr in her performance
The second night of “LA Pride in the Park” included Mariah Carey as the main attraction. During her performance, she stunned the audience by showing them images from Grindr.
Carey introduced her song “Obsessed” using images from the well-known LGBTQ dating and hookup app, as shown in a video submitted to TikTok by @thenorrisjay on Sunday. As of Sunday, the video has received 83,000 likes and over 500,000 views.
The screenshots depict a dialogue with one party introducing themselves. Hey. Heyy. Hiii,” and “Why are you so fascinated with me?”
The vocalist is shown singing “Obsessed” while the camera pans to the enthusiastic response of the audience. She is wearing a metallic bustier and a glittering skirt.
Los Angeles State Historic Park served as the venue for the two-night performance. On the first night, Megan Thee Stallion performed.

Along with “Obsessed,” Carey also sang her other top songs, such as “It’s A Wrap,” “Rainbow,” and “We Belong Together.”
Carey thanked LA Pride on Instagram after her performance
Carey has supported and promoted the LGBTQ community for many years. While accepting the Ally Award at the 2016 GLAAD Awards, she even coined her own LGBTQ acronym.
“L is for Legendary, then. G: stunning. B: All of you gorgeous folks are wonderful! Carey referred to T as tantalizing and even Q as excellent.
Mariah looked stunning
When Mariah Carey made her most recent visit at the 2023 Pride in the Park Festival in Los Angeles on Saturday, she didn’t just bring the hits—she brought the looks, too.
In a strapless gown with a metallic and sequin mesh, the 54-year-old singer looked stunning while singing some of her best hits.
A glittering skirt with a thigh-high split that highlighted her toned legs was worn underneath the structured metallic bodice that contoured her form.
