On Days of Our Lives on NBC, Victor Kiriakis is a made-up character. Since 1985, John Aniston has played the part. His character was “killed off” in a plot-driven absence in 2004 but was later discovered alive on the island of Melaswen.

John Aniston, who starred in the soap opera for more than 30 years, will be honored. The Times announced Thursday that the final episode of “Days of Our Lives” will air on December 26.
Aniston made his “Days of Our Lives” debut in 1970, briefly playing Dr. Eric Richards. He rose to fame, however, in 1985 when he started playing criminal boss Victor Kiriakis.
The show is getting ready to say goodbye to Aniston after more than 2,700 episodes, but it’s unclear how Victor’s tale will end up playing out.
According to a “Days of Our Lives” spokeswoman, the show’s producers and writers are still debating what to do with Aniston’s character.

His actor-daughter Jennifer Aniston shared the actor’s passing on Instagram on November 11 at the age of 89.
She wrote, “Sweet father… John Anthony Aniston.” “You were among the most attractive people I’ve ever known. I am very happy that you ascended into the sky pain-free and in peace. And no less on 11/11! Your timing was always impeccable. That number now has even more significance for me in the future. Till the end of time, I will adore you.
The daytime drama’s official Twitter account honored the senior Aniston’s career on Monday by posting a video montage of some of his most enduring moments from “Days of Our Lives.”
The caption accompanying the photo said, “Our hearts are crushed over the passing of our cherished family member John Aniston.” “John, we adore you. Your legacy will endure.”
Corday described Aniston as “kind, brilliant, humorous, and immensely gifted” in a statement provided to The Times.
The statement stated, “John was an icon, but more importantly, he was a pillar of strength and togetherness for our ‘Days of our Lives community. He will always hold a special place in our hearts, along with our “Victor Kiriakis.”
During his “Days of Our Lives” tenure, Aniston won a handful of Soap Opera Digest Awards and received the lifetime achievement prize at the Daytime Emmys in 2022.
In an interview with the Television Academy, Aniston said he wanted to be remembered simply as a “good actor.”
